Project Overview
Sea Clouds prepared the integrated Geophysical Data Analysis Report for the Baltica 9 Offshore Wind Farm, supporting the planning of the geotechnical investigation campaign in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone. Working as a specialist subcontractor to the survey contractor, our team analysed the complete geophysical dataset — multibeam bathymetry, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiler, magnetometer and ultra-high-resolution seismic — and delivered a site-specific evaluation for 18 planned geotechnical locations. For each site the report integrates data analysis, geohazard and shallow gas assessment, risk assessment and drill site assessment, concluding with a safe / caution / exclusion zone classification and recommendations. The analysis goes beyond the content of the individual ALARP cards and was delivered within four weeks.
Scope of Work
  • Integrated analysis of the full geophysical dataset in a GIS environment, including validation and cross-checking of data integrity
  • Geohazard assessment covering natural hazards — shallow gas, boulders, hard seabed and seabed slope
  • Geohazard assessment covering anthropogenic hazards — potential UXO, subsea cables and pipelines, wrecks and debris
  • Shallow gas assessment based on UHRS and MBES interpretation, supported by seismic attribute analysis
  • Risk assessment with likelihood-of-encounter scoring in line with IOGP practice
  • Drill site assessment covering geological, geophysical, environmental and operational suitability
  • Site-specific conclusions, mitigation measures and alternative location proposals along the survey lines
